Back when KIA was originally formed in 2001, membership required the submission of a few sentences towards the egregore. These could be quotes from favourite books, songs, or films, or any sentence the member cared to submit.
On the website a special page selected 5 of these at random and combined them into a paragraph. This was essentially an electronic divination system, like an online i-ching, tarot or rune selector, but it worked on a whole different level.
Because every member of KIA submitted sentences to the egregore, it could be said to represent a kind of ‘group mind’. These sentences often combined in unusual and unexpected ways, creating new contexts for each given the ones that surrounded them.
It had one big draw back, I had to add the sentences manually. I always intended to write an online submission form and a click button approval process, but never got around to it. The system stagnated.
When I migrated the KIA website from ASP to PHP, I never bothered restoring the KIA Speaks functionality at all. A previous version persisted for a while on chaosmagic.com, but eventually even that version was lost when that website disappeared.
Recently however I was performing an evocation as part of my ‘summoning storm’ operation to charge my pentacle, when an apparition of the KIA egregore appeared and requested I restore this program. I have now done this. I even made some improvements.
First, I have made submission as easy as leaving comments on a dedicated blog post. Since KIA uses wordpress software, this makes approval process as easy as moderating comments.
Secondly, I’ve also created a special code that means agents and indeed anyone posting a comment on KIA, can request a paragraph from KIA using the [kiaspeaks] shortcode. This means that the egregore can be evoked for comment during any online conversation on the site blogs. It should be trivial to extend this feature to forums.
